JOBS are to go at the new Daily Ireland newspaper, its owners confirmed yesterday.

Mairtin O Muilleoir, group managing director of the Belfast-based Andersonstown News Group, said the Government’s refusal to advertise with the paper had forced it to restructure its operation.

Details on numbers were not revealed, although it has been claimed that the future of 12 jobs, about one third of the total workforce, are in doubt following talks between management and union representatives.
