Dividend bonus as Fyffes earnings increase

FYFFES plans to reward its shareholders with a special dividend payment, as earnings this year have soared.

The fruit importer says it will use €20 million of its surplus cash to pay a special dividend of 5.72 cent a share because of the “exceptional performance” of its tropical produce division.

Fyffes yesterday raised its forecast for earnings per share to grow by at least 20% in the year to end December 2005.
