ISEQ closes in negative territory

DESPITE a buoyant day on European markets both the FTSE in London and ISEQ finished the day in negative territory.

The ISEQ closed at 3732.62, a fall of 18.34 points.

Main movers to higher levels were the banks. Allied Irish Bank added 10c to 11.60 and Bank of Ireland added 2.67% to 10.00. Anglo Irish Bank was firmer at 6.14. Weaker on the day was Ryanair.

Also lower were Elan falling 20.35% to 2.70 and Jurys Doyle down 7 cent to 6.83. McInerney, which reported a 14% rise in 2002 profits to 20.62m, fell 4 cent to 2.26.
