Partnership bids to cut car crime

The Society of the Motor Industry in Ireland (SIMI) has agreed a new partnership with Netwatch to provide a voice and sight satellite-based security system to crack down on car crime.

The security system provides 24-hour remote security monitoring of premises. It is unique in Ireland in that the remote command centre can verbally warn-off intruders trying to gain access to a site. In nine out of 10 cases, intruders leave without committing a crime once they have been warned off.
