Bausch sheds 30 temporary jobs

LENS manufacturers Bausch & Lomb are shedding 30 temporary staff with immediate effect.

The company said the cuts were seasonal and stressed they do not impact on operations and the jobs of the 1,700 others employed at the Waterford city plant.

“The 30 temporary employees will be laid off next week. The employees were taken on a number of months ago to allow the company to complete the launch of a new product on time.
