Galen name change approved

Northern Ireland drug company Galen said its shareholders had “overwhelmingly approved” the change of the company's name to Warner Chilcott plc.

The name change reflects the company’s exclusive focus on the American market, after it sold its British businesses recently. Warner Chilcott has been widely recognised in the American market since the 1950s.

New Paddy Power financial controller

Dublin: Bookmaker Paddy Power has appointed financial controller Nuala Hunt as company secretary.

Ms Hunt replaces Charlie Kelly, who will now take a full-time role in managing the company's retail operations.
