European money markets higher

WITH trade remaining thin ahead of the Fed announcement in the US, European bourses closed marginally higher with the ISEQ in Dublin 25.39 points stronger at 4352.93.

Main movers into positive territory were CRH gaining 47c to €13.85 with US housing data for May released yesterday exceeding expectations. Allied Irish Bank added 6c to €13.14 following a broker upgrade while Bank of Ireland gained 17c to €10.71. Anglo Irish Bank followed, on what proved to be a good day for the banks, with a 12c rise to €7.80.

Elsewhere Ryanair eased 6c to €5.95 while Kerry Group closed 15c weaker at €13.45.
