United Drug profits jump 21% to €42.4m

UNITED DRUG delivered results to pep up any shareholder yesterday as it reported a 21% increase in pre-tax profits.

United Drug profits jump 21% to €42.4m

The bottom line bumped up an extra €7 million to €42.4 million for the year to September, while sales increased 16% to €1.25 billion. Shareholders were rewarded with a 17% rise in dividends and will pocket 4.8c a share.

United Drug has increased its earnings for the 19th year in a row. Chief executive Liam FitzGerald predicted the success story would continue next year and said future earnings would be driven by a combination of organic growth and bolt-on acquisitions.
