The Irish index declined for a second day yesterday, shedding 37.23 points to close at 5066.25.

In the financials, both AIB and Bank of Ireland were down, sliding 16c and 14c respectively. Anglo Irish Bank remained steady at 13.60, while Irish Life & Permanent lost 5c to finish at 13.55.

Ryanair was in focus once again, ahead of the ruling on Charleroi airport due later today. The company said that if there is a negative outcome, they would lodge complaints against other airlines and airports, which have similar arrangements. The stock closed 21c weaker at 4.66.

Gresham Hotel Group shed 1c to 1.22. CRH rose 5c, while McInerney Holdings added 1c to 5.15.
