Meat plant jobs losses spared

A Northern meat plant will be spared the full brunt of job losses it had predicted, after winning new contracts worth £25 million (€36 million).

200 jobs were expected to be lost after Dungannon Meats recently lost a major contract to supply supermarket chain Sainsbury’s, but the company said yesterday that 140 of these would now be retained thanks to replacement business that had been negotiated since October.
