IRELAND has lost ground once again in a survey of broadband internet access with a take-up rate of just over 2%.

Of the 21 countries survey by Forfás only Hungary, the Czech Republic and Greece had a worse take-up rate.

The agency found broadband penetration highest in South Korea at just over 14%, followed by Denmark with 11% of the population using broadband.
