Positive US data pulls market higher

SHARES in Dublin rebounded following overnight consumer confidence data in the US. The heavyweights led the charge as the ISEQ climbed 11.78 points to 5321.71.

Positive US data pulls market higher

AIB firmed 16c to €12.56. Rival Bank of Ireland was also higher at €10.68 while Anglo-Irish was up 29c. Irish Life & Permanent bucked the positive trend in the sector, falling 5c to €12.35.

Drug group Elan rallied €1.00 to €16.90 after a couple of sessions of profit taking. Budget carrier Ryanair lost 3c.
