Breakdown at Boliden mill

A BREAKDOWN of a grinding mill at mining and smelter firm Boliden’s Tara zinc mine in Co Meath will cut production of zinc and lead concentrate by about 40% for six weeks, the company yesterday said.

A breakdown of an electric motor at one of the grinding mills and the resulting cut in production was seen hitting the firm’s operating result by around €4 million, the mine’s Swedish owner said.
