MBNA ranked top work place

MBNA Ireland has been ranked as the number one place to work in Europe. The company emerged as the winner of the 2004 100 Best Workplaces in Europe survey released in London last night.

MBNA ranked top work place

MBNA beat off challenges from around 1,000 companies Europe-wide to take the top spot.

Earlier this year, MBNA was selected as the "Best Company to Work For in Ireland", which led to the company going forward for the European prize.

Ian O'Doherty, MBNA Ireland's director said the company's selection was a phenomenal achievement by, and for, the people of MBNA Ireland.

"This is only the second year that MBNA Ireland has taken part in the Great Places to Work surveys therefore to come out top, in not only Ireland, but also the whole of Europe is truly outstanding," he said.

"We make no secret of the fact that we believe that providing our people with a good working environment is beneficial to our business. Indeed, we have a phrase that says: 'satisfied people satisfy customers'. Most importantly, therefore, we've done this whilst maintaining our focus on providing our customers with the very best service.

"This award for MBNA Ireland also reflects other MBNA achievements in similar 'Best Places to Work' initiatives carried out in the US and the UK, highlighting MBNA's commitment to its people and customers on the global stage."

The 100 Best Workplaces in Europe recognises organisations that provide a great working environment. The survey was undertaken in all 15 EU member states.
