Anglo Irish Bank declines by 43c

THE Irish index declined throughout the day yesterday, closing 30.62 points lower at 4748.84.

In the financial sector, Anglo Irish Bank fell from Tuesday’s year high of 12.35, losing 43c to close at 11.92 with almost two million shares traded. Allied Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland lost 10c and 13c, respectively.

Construction stocks were also weaker. CRH tumbled 39c to 16.10 and Heiton shed 3c to 3.75. Both Grafton Group and Kingspan remained unchanged.
