Call to list workplace fatalities

THE outgoing president of the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO), Bill Kelly, has called on the Government to make it a mandatory requirement for all organisations in their annual reports and accounts to list all workplace fatalities as well as the number of reportable accidents and health and safety violations.

Speaking at the body’s AGM yesterday, Mr Kelly also urged companies to include health and safety performance as criteria when assessing managers’ and staff pay and bonuses.
