Investment in venture capital ‘must quadruple’

VENTURE capital investment will have to quadruple to €4 billion over the next five years if marketplace demands are to be met, according to the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA).

The association says an increase in company flotations and trade sales are expected in Irish business over the next two years, despite an overall tightening of available funds.

According to an IVCA survey, 56% of venture capital funds here expect more of their client companies to seek IPOs over the next two years.
