Trinity Biotech $1m HIV research gift

DIAGNOSTICS firm Trinity Biotech says it will make a $1m (€822,000) donation of its rapid HIV testing kits to community- based groups and public health facilities in the US.

The company, based in Bray, Co Wicklow, said it will distribute the kits, which can detect HIV within minutes, over the next six months.

“We are delighted to help increase the number of Rapid HIV tests being performed in the US through this donation of Uni-Gold Recombigen HIV Rapid tests,” said Trinity chief executive Ronan O’Caoimh.
