Report calls for infrastructure body

Ireland needs a dedicated advisory board to oversee major infrastructure projects, according to a new report from A&L Goodbody Consulting.

Managing director Peter Brennan said the proposed board could “deliver more timely results and identify and address planning and development bottlenecks”. Mr Brennan said current arrangements left the expertise to manage projects “scattered throughout the public service”. “An example of this is the Dublin Docklands area where there are six agencies with statutory authority for transport projects,” said Mr Brennan.
