Galen buys contraceptive deal

Northern-based drugmaker Galen Holdings has bought an exclusive licence for a generic version of its Ovcon 35 oral contraceptive from Barr Pharmaceuticals.

In March, Barr granted Galen an option to acquire the exclusive licence for Ovcon 35, which was then pending at the US Food & Drug Administration.
