50 new firms get State backing

UP to 50 companies will set up business this year with the backing of the State.

This is nearly one a week and maintains the level of start-ups achieved in 2002.

Despite fears of a severe downturn, the number of people willing to give business a go, even in a tougher business climate, has not diminished to any significant degree.
