Hewlett-Packard earnings unchanged

HEWLETT-PACKARD Co, a week after ousting chief executive Carly Fiorina for failing to produce the profits she promised, said first-quarter earnings were little changed.

Revenue rose on holiday sales of printers and personal computers.

Net income rose to $943 million, or 32 cents a share, from $936m, or 30 cents, a year earlier, the California-based company said yesterday. Sales rose 9.9% to $21.5 billion, half the gains achieved by competitor Dell Inc.
