McCann set to end role with Fyffes

NEIL McCANN is stepping down from the board of fruit importers Fyffes after 55 years with the company.

Mr McCann built the firm, once called Fruit Importers of Ireland, into one of the largest fresh produce companies in the world with sales of over €2bn a year.

Fyffes also announced the appointment of two new board members - Coen Bos, who runs the tropical produce division, and Rory Byrne, the head of general produce.
