The facility will comprise a recycling centre and a non-hazardous residual landfill.

The residual landfill is designed to receive 200,000 tonnes of residual household, commercial, industrial, construction and demolition waste every year.

The company is also planning to invest €6m in a compost manufacturing facility at Kilbride in Co Westmeath. However, this development is currently being appealed to An Bórd Pleanála, following the decision by Westmeath County Council to refuse planning permission.
