Zentek looks east with new Singapore office

CORK-headquartered Zentek Engineering has expanded into the Asia-Pacific market through the opening of a new office in Singapore.

The company is a provider of process automation and systems integration services for the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The privately owned firm counts the likes of GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Pfizer, Roche, Wyeth and Schering-Plough as clients.

The significance of creating an on-the-ground presence in Singapore is that the country is aiming to become a world-renowned centre of excellence for bio-medical technology innovation.

Its government is encouraging pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms to set up manufacturing and research and development& operations there.

According to Zentek’s founder and chief executive, Brendan O’Regan: “As the Singapore government is promoting the country as a bio-medical hub for the region, it makes good business sense for Zentek to locate its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore. The process automation services and solutions offered by us are designed for these companies to fine-tune, improve or streamline such operations in a cost-effective and reliable manner.”

Zentek was established in Cork in 1988. Its services extend to software, process design and consulting. Its Asia-Pacific headquarters will carry out full services to clients on a local level and will house a full engineering team with full technical expertise.
