BAE to pay £500m into pension fund

AEROSPACE group BAE Systems is understood to be planning to make a £500 million (€742m) cash injection into its pension fund.

The move, which is thought to be the biggest payment made by a FTSE 100 company into its pension, would form part of a deal with employees to help close the £2.8bn (€4.2bn) deficit the scheme currently faces.
