TCH completes and signs Echo Group deal

THE deal that brings the Echo Group into Thomas Crosbie Holdings’ (TCH) ownership was completed and signed yesterday, following approval by the Competition Authority.

Speaking at the signing, TCH Group managing director Anthony Dinan said: “We are delighted the acquisition has gone very smoothly and we can now move ahead with our plans to integrate the newspapers fully into the TCH group.

“We look forward to working with Murry McDonald, general manager, and all the management and staff in Wexford,” he added.

Mr Dinan also paid tribute to Eamonn and Norman Buttle and thanked the management and staff of the Echo Group for their support and co-operation.

The group comprises of the Wexford Echo, Enniscorthy Echo, New Ross Echo, and Gorey Echo newspapers. TCH now owns 18 newspapers, including the Irish Examiner, Evening Echo and The Sunday Business Post.
