THE Irish market mirrored declines across European bourses yesterday.

The ISEQ index fell for a third consecutive day to finish 39.53 points weaker at 5625.85.

Elan was one of the main movers. Nervousness ahead of the SEC announcement, due shortly, caused the stock to fall over €1 to 17.66.

The main financials were mixed. Bank of Ireland saw 1.32 million shares change hands but remained steady at €10.92. Allied Irish Bank and Anglo-Irish were both weaker, shedding 7c and 6c, respectively. Elsewhere, almost four million shares were traded in Ryanair, which dropped 10c to €3.71. CRH slipped to €19.38, McInerney advanced to €5.95, while Kingspan added 5c to €5.95. Kerry Group dropped 3c to €17.87 while Glanbia eased 2c to €2.55.
