Call for increased energy efficiency

IRISH businesses need to make a concerted effort to improve energy competitiveness and help to combat climate change, Sustainable Energy Ireland said over the weekend.

Speaking at the annual Sustainable Energy Awards, SEI chief executive David Taylor said recent developments in world energy markets and the accompanying energy price rises, together with the outlook for oil and gas supplies left no room for complacency in the way energy was used.

“Energy efficiency is increasingly an imperative for business success,” he said.
