Arcon reports first profit of €1 million

Mining company Arcon, which owns the Galmoy zinc and lead mine in Co Kilkenny, has announced pre-tax profits of €1 million for the first half of the year, after a loss of almost €5m in the same period last year.

The company thanked higher metal prices for the results, which marked Arcon’s first time in the black. Revenues increased 68% to €18.4 million.
