Mean Fiddler takeover probed

BRITISH competition watchdogs have started a process to decide whether the proposed takeover of Mean Fiddler Music Group, the London-based entertainment business founded by Irish-born Vince Power, requires investigation on competition grounds.

The Office of Fair Trade said it would consider whether to refer the takeover, by Clear Channel Entertainment and the Denis Desmond-backed Gaiety Investments, to the Competition Commission.
