Good start to year for building group

Building group Abbey says trading in the early months of its current financial year has started well.

Executive chairman Charles Gallagher told shareholders at yesterday’s AGM that new homes have continued to sell well in both England and Ireland, though in England in recent weeks the market has slowed.
