BCM Hanby Wallace win prize

Dublin law firm BCM Hanby Wallace has been named as runner-up in a major international awards’ scheme to identify Ireland’s leading law firm.

Established heavyweight A&L Goodbody was nominated as the leading firm in Ireland at the Global Law Firm of the Year Awards, which were organised by legal publishers Chambers and Partners.

The awards were presented by Cherie Blair QC, the wife of the British Prime Minister, in London on Thursday.

Managing partner of BCM Hanby Wallace Gary Byrne said the firm was delighted to have been selected as runner up.

“We’re absolutely thrilled. The legal pecking order in Ireland among the top five or six firms has always been very rigid, so for a firm from outside that circle to jump ahead of the traditional players is a great achievement,” he said.
