Celesio sees rapid rise in turnover

Celesio, the German group which owns pharmacy firms Cahill May Roberts and Unicare, says its Irish turnover is increasing at double-digit rates.

Interim results from Celesio yesterday shows turnover at wholesaler Cahill May Roberts 18% ahead at €207 million. However, the company said this is below the growth rate for the rest of the market, which was very competitive. It said pre-tax profits at CMR were in line with its expectations.

At Celesio’s 55 retail pharmacy outlets in Ireland, turnover was ahead by 8.4% at €54 million.
