ISEQ up 47.41 points to 7491.21

SHARES in Dublin continued to surge ahead yesterday led by gains in CRH and the financials. The ISEQ index finished the day up 47.41 points at 7491.21.

In the banking sector AIB jumped 22c to €18.40 with over 3.6 million shares changing hands. Bank of Ireland was unchanged at €13.70, while on the second line Anglo and Irish Life & Permanent gained 30c and 10c respectively.

In construction, CRH gained 39c to €25.80 as rival Ashland announced preliminary results for Q1 showing operating income to be $39m compared to $4m for December ‘04. Kingspan climbed 10c to €11.25.
