EMAP takeover of SRH on cards

TAKEOVER speculation is swirling around the parent company of Today FM, with the British media group EMAP reported to be eyeing a bid.

EMAP takeover of SRH on cards

EMAP is already the largest shareholder in Scottish Radio Holdings, which owns Today FM and a number of other radio stations and newspapers in Ireland.

It is reported to have been considering a bid for some time, having acquired a 27.8% stake in SRH earlier this year. EMAP said at the time that it would make a bid for the firm only if another emerged. Under British rules it was then prevented from launching a full bid for six months.
