A second phase of the programme involved the refurbishment of 50 guest rooms and the addition many, new facilities including mini-golf and teen zone.

Other developments currently taking place in Killarney include extensions to Lake Hotel and Randles Court Hotel, a 75-bedroom development on the Scott’s Hotel site and the building of a new Ross Hotel.

Meanwhile, Peter Brennan, director of operations for Quality Hotels, said Killarney was the perfect location for such a resort hotel.

From Easter, the hotel will have new KMX bikes and tracks, an outdoor multi-purpose sports pitch, which is suitable for tennis, basketball, volleyball and 5-a-side soccer.
