Continental to offer direct flights to US

US carrier Continental Airlines will launch the only direct service between the North and the United States next year, it said yesterday.

The fifth-largest US airline plans to begin a daily summer service between Belfast International Airport and New York/Newark on May 27.

The service, which will receive start-up grant aid from the British government, will be scaled back to four flights a week during the winter months.
