Rocha watches profits at Three Moon rising
Three Moon Design accounts show profits before tax last year rose to €2.7m. No turnover figure was given, but sales of the designer's products are believed to be around €100m.
Retained profits were €4.7m at the year.
The Irish designer, who was born in Hong Kong, has launched several collections in recent years and his clothes are available in department store Debenham's under the rocha.john rocha label. He also has a luxury line for Waterford Crystal.
No dividend was paid to Mr Rocha and his wife Odette, the company's two shareholders.
Salary and pension contributions to Mr Rocha and his wife totalled €760,326, down slightly on what they were paid in 2003.
The accounts, just filed at the Companies Registration Office, show that the directors took out a loan from Three Moon Design of €508,361 during the year.
A note to the accounts list one of its subsidiary companies being involved in property development. Mr Roche, who designed Dublin's plush Morrison Hotel, has been working on property development in Liverpool and Birmingham in recent years.
The accounts also show that during the year Three Moon Design paid €551,797 for "works of art". No further description was given in the documents.
Mr Rocha won the British Fashion Designer of the Year in 1993.
