Gucci revenue rises by 4.9%

Gucci Group NV, the world’s third-largest luxury-goods maker, saw revenue rise 4.9% from a year earlier in its first quarter on higher leather-goods sales.

Revenue was 595 million euros ($737 million) in the three months ended April 30, according to figures in owner Pinault- Printemps-Redoute SA’s second-quarter earnings report. Sales of leather goods at the Gucci division rose 17%.
