EasyJet launches new service
The service will operate one flight a day until April and will step up to two flights a day for the summer.
The airline expects to carry 150,000 passengers through Shannon in the year ahead and 500,000 on its three new Irish services, which also link Gatwick with Cork and Knock. Flights start at €17.99 one way.
Chief operating officer Ed Winter said: “it is an exciting day for EasyJet and we are delighted to be starting these new services. The Republic is a practically untapped market for low-cost services and air fares in the region have been too high for to long. EasyJet is now providing thousands of Irish travellers the opportunity to access the south of England.”
