EasyJet launches new service

BRITISH no-frills airline EasyJet launched its new service from Shannon to London Gatwick yesterday.

The service will operate one flight a day until April and will step up to two flights a day for the summer.

The airline expects to carry 150,000 passengers through Shannon in the year ahead and 500,000 on its three new Irish services, which also link Gatwick with Cork and Knock. Flights start at €17.99 one way.
