THE London market failed to break out of a losing streak yesterday as it ended a downbeat week on the back foot. The top flight was dragged lower

It meant the FTSE 100 closed down 57.2 points at 3878.1, off earlier lows but still at a nine-week low.

In the last week alone it has lost more than 135 points and was last lower on October 10, when it was 3777.3.
