Sheehy appointed to board of AIB

EUGENE SHEEHY, who was appointed AIB group chief executive designate in March, has joined the bank’s board.

Sheehy appointed to board of AIB

Mr Sheehy joined AIB in 1971. He returns to Dublin having spent the last three years in the US, where he oversaw the sale of the Allfirst subsidiary to M&T Bank. He was then chairman and chief executive of M&T’s mid-Atlantic division.

Mr Sheehy replaces Corkman Michael Buckley as AIB’s top banker.
