Shares again land in negative spot

SHARES in Dublin continued their downward trend for the third consecutive day, mirroring declines across other European bourses. The ISEQ fell 28.62 points to 7887.32.

In the financial sector, AIB weakened by a further 32c to €19.35 while Bank of Ireland dipped 1c to €15.03. In the second line Anglo-Irish gave up 9c to €13.73 while Irish Life & Permanent was unchanged at €18.35.

Construction stocks were mixed. Heavyweight CRH fell by 25c to €27.36, Grafton drifted back 6c to €10.31, while Kingspan and McInerney gained 9c and 5c.
