Little trading in low-key market

The financial sector was a major contributor to the downward trends as the big two AIB and Bank of Ireland both lost ground, down 1c and 12c. Anglo Irish shed 2c to close at €13.17 capping off a poor day for the banks.

In construction, CRH slipped back 5c to €28.70 while Grafton dipped 19c to €10.47. Kingspan bucked the sector trend by gaining 6c to close at €12.70.
