Little trading in low-key market
The financial sector was a major contributor to the downward trends as the big two AIB and Bank of Ireland both lost ground, down 1c and 12c. Anglo Irish shed 2c to close at €13.17 capping off a poor day for the banks.
In construction, CRH slipped back 5c to €28.70 while Grafton dipped 19c to €10.47. Kingspan bucked the sector trend by gaining 6c to close at €12.70.
Elsewhere, Ryanair added 3c to €7.65 as the company announced a 15% rise in passenger numbers for March. Food Group IAWS climbed 24c to finish trading at €14.55 while C&C Group strengthened by 5c to €5.70.
Greencore closed at a year high of €4.00 as the company’s strong performance continues to elevate the share price.
