RTÉ radio launches business show
The show will be presented by John Murray and Robert Shortt from the station’s business unit which supplies business news to RTÉ news programmes throughout the week.
Presenter John Murray said the station recognised a gap in the schedule and saw a need to take on rival Today FM. He said personal finance issues will provide topics for the programme on an ongoing basis.
“We will use the resources of the business team who are here all week providing business news to bulletins. This week of course we will be looking at the AIB foreign exchange story and will have Minister for Finance Charlie McCreevy talking about the issue for the first time,” he said.
The show, produced by Mary Curtin, will examine the performance of blue-chip and up-and-coming companies, monitor competition in key sectors, and provide on-going advice from personal finance experts.
The show takes on Today FM’s Sunday Business Show which has built an audience for its 10.30am to 11.30am slot. The show is presented by the editor of the Sunday Business Post, Ted Harding, and Conall Ó Morain.
The Post is a sister paper of the Irish Examiner.
