Irish Life opens 40,000 accounts

Irish Life & Permanent (ILP) chairman Gillian Bowler said the company had grown its share of the current account market to 11% this year and had added 40,000 new accounts during 2004.

The company plans to add a further 60,000 accounts next year, when a new code of practice governing the switching of current accounts between banks takes effect.
