€100m fund for franchise sector

BANK of Ireland Business Banking has announced details of a €100 million fund for the franchise sector.

The bank estimates there are over 250 franchises in operation in Ireland and it has set up the fund to help franchisees develop existing businesses or avail of new opportunities.

Business banking director Cathal Muckian said: "The rapid growth in the franchise sector is evidenced by employment in the industry increasing by 24% in the past 2 years."
