Good day for banks with broad gains
AIB raised its target for full-year earnings as its strong 2004 performance continued this year. The Bank closed 17c stronger at €17.25. Rival, Bank of Ireland remained level at €12.70. Anglo-Irish and Irish Life gained 3c and 4c to cap off a good day for the financials.
Pharmaceutical company Elan rose 11c to €5.80 on the back of news reporting positive early stage trials for a vaccine to Parkinson's.
