Leader newspaper group for sale at €100m

THE Leinster Leader group of newspapers is on the market with a price tag of more than €100 million.

The Naas-based group, which publishes the Leinster Leader, Limerick Leader, Leinster Express, Offaly Express and Dundalk Democrat, yesterday announced plans to take over Tallaght Publishing, the owner of Dublin suburban newspaper The Echo, for close to €5.2m.

But the company has also instructed the corporate finance arm of Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) to prepare an information memorandum for buyers.
